Enhancing your eyesight will enhance your performance

Comprehensive eye exam
A comprehensive eye exam includes a thorough prescription assessment, binocular evaluation, slit-lamp photography, fundus photography, and a CT scan. Additional tests will be done according to each individual visual needs.
Specialized pediatric eye care
The eye is the only organ that is not fully developed with birth. This is where more than 80% of your child’s development occurs. That is why comprehensive pediatric eye examinations are so important. It is not all about clear vision, but about how integrated their eyes are with the rest of their body. These eye examinations can even help with the early diagnosis of developmental issues in children, making them much more beneficial than free eye tests for children.

Myopia control
This treatment helps to prevent short-sightedness from becoming worse every year. If you don’t slow down the progression of short-sightedness, the risk of conditions like glaucoma, retinal detachment, myopia macular degeneration, and cataracts increases drastically. It is important to act while a patient is still young, which is why this treatment is mostly used on children – before they reach adulthood and develop conditions that cannot be reversed. Instead, we love to preserve children’s sight for the rest of their lives. We supply treatment glasses for myopia to help control how rapidly it develops or progresses, whereas most eye care professionals only supply prescription glasses without any treatment.
Visual therapy
In the old days, visual therapy treated symptoms. But thanks to neuroplasticity we can now treat the source of the problem by re-wiring and re-firing the brain paths. Since your eyes are connected to your entire body, this treatment can help to treat symptoms such as learning difficulties of any kind, squint eyes, comprehension challenges, ball sense, traumatic brain injuries, and concussions. Visual therapy implements principles of neuroplasticity to treat these problems, with life-changing success!

Dyslexia
Carla is a registered dyslexia specialist. Her treatment plans involve real solutions, providing not just accommodation for dyslexia, but also solutions. Neuroplasticity allows us to re-wire the brain of patients who suffer from dyslexia, changing the history of dyslexia, that was unfixable in the past!
Scleral and semi-scleral lenses
Scleral lenses are larger and more stable on the eye than conventional GP lenses. So, they are less likely to accidentally dislodge from the eye. This stability also makes them more comfortable than conventional GP lenses; scleral lenses provide similar comfort to soft lenses. These lenses are specially fitted for irregularly shaped corneas, such as keratoconus, corneal grafts, and any other irregular corneal surfaces, with a success rate of 95%.

Soft contact lenses
We fit soft contact lenses for various patients with any demands. From sport to office needs, single vision to multifocal, and even treatment lenses for various conditions. So, visit us for all your contact lens needs.
Low Vision
Low vision treatments help patients whose eyesight can no longer benefit from glasses due to eye diseases that left irreversible retinal damage. We stock a variety of magnifying glasses that patients can carry with them to use when reading or watching television, from general handheld magnifiers to electric magnifying glasses. If we don’t have what you need in stock, we source it!

Sports Vision
Poor eye coordination shouldn’t keep you back when it comes to your sport – whether you cycle, run, or play competitive team sports. With Carla’s postgraduate qualifications in Sports Vision, she can give you that competitive edge above your opponent without drugs. First and foremost, through Sports vision training, but also by prescribing glasses that are designed especially for patients who compete in shooting competitions, go hunting or go deep-sea diving. These small changes can even help you to play better golf!
Specific Dry Eye Treatment
Carla attended an International Dry eye conference in Florida, as dry eyes are a problem in 80% of the South African population at some stage of their lives. Carla and her team make sure to treat dry eyes preventative, and not just symptomatic as the South African culture for this problem is. Every patient's dry eye treatment is customized according to his needs. The results that we get in the long run are heartwarming!

Syntonics (Optometric Phototherapy)
Syntonics is the use of visible light frequencies, through the eyes, to enhance visual attention and the ability to comprehend what we see, bringing balance to an unstable system. Syntonic phototherapy has been used clinically for over 90 years in optometry with continued success in treating visual dysfunctions, such as strabismus (eye turns), amblyopia (lazy eye), and learning disorders, as well as focusing and convergence problems. It is also a treatment
for the visual consequences of stress and trauma, including traumatic brain injury.
